Work With a Student
Purpose
The purpose of this page is to connect projects with students, and to provide helpful information to about how to navigate project work. While the client should expect good artwork or other digital media, it is important to understand the emphasis is on providing students experience in their field. To help facilitate the process, please find job posting requirements below.

Do you have a project?
If you have a project you would like a student to consider working on, please provide the following in an email to Professor Howland to be reviewed for possible posting. The following information is required:
-
Project Name
-
Overview: Minimum one paragraph overview description of the project requirements. Be specific. Please keep in mind you are not hiring someone with extensive experience who can lead you in this area. You are hiring a student which means you are responsible for clearly articulating your needs.
-
Specific parameters: Detail your specific needs.
-
Pay: Is this hourly pay or a total project cost?
-
Time: Is this an ongoing position, or a project? If it is a project, outline the expected time commitment.
-
Contact: Who is the point of contact?
Please don't request to post work that pays less than legal wages. For project work, it is important to understand that design takes time and that time is a consideration in the pay.

What should employers expect from a student?
Any commercial artist should provide a potential employer with a resume and portfolio.
